Man attacked by three thugs in Featherstone

A man was seriously injured when three thugs barged into a house and violently assaulted him.

The 32-year-old victim was taken to hospital were he was treated for injuries to his face and his arms.

The suspects knocked on the door of a house of Leatham Park Road in Featherstone at around 9pm on Monday, March 24.

As the door was opening, they forced their way inside the house and attacked the victim.

Det Con Donna Atkinson, of Wakefield CID, said: “This was a serious assault and I would like to speak to anyone who saw what took place or who saw a group of three men behaving suspiciously in either Leatham Park Road or Leatham Park Crescent shortly before or after the assault.

“We believe the suspects drove to Featherstone to commit the offence so I would also like to speak to anyone who saw a vehicle make off at speed from the area.”

The first suspect was described as a 6ft tall, athletically built black man. He was aged in his 20s, with short dark hair and was wearing a red body warmer.

The second man was Asian, in his early 20s and 5ft 6ins tall. He was of small build and had short hair.

The third suspect was also Asian, aged in his mid to late 20s and stocky. He was 5ft 8 ins tall, with short, dark hair and was wearing a dark coat.
