A man has appeared in court charged with causing the death of a teenager by driving dangerously.
Richard Hepworth, 30, of Headlands Road, Ossett, appeared at Wakefield and Pontefract Magistrates’ Court on Mondaywhere he was charged with causing the death of Pontefract teenager Jemma Coyles in April.
Miss Coyles was a front seat passenger in a blue Jaguar XJR car which was on Pontefract Road in Purston when it crashed at around 11.50pm on Monday, April 14.
The 19-year-old died from her injuries.
Due to the seriousness of the allegation, Karen Medley, prosecuting, asked for the case to be sent to the Crown court.
Hepworth was granted unconditional bail.
