Man suffers serious injuries after attack by Asian car gang

A gang of Asian men attacked a man in Wrenthorpe.

The 32-year-old victim was left with serious injuries including a broken jaw during the assault on Friday.

Police said three or four men pulled up alongside the victim and got out of a Black Range Rover, on Bradford Road, close to the junction with Ruskin Avenue and near to the railway bridge, sometime between 7pm and 8pm.

They then carried out the attack.

Detective Constable Bryn Hampshire, of Wakefield CID, said: “We would urge anyone who has witnessed this assault or seen a black Range Rover in this area around the time of the incident to call Wakefield CID on 101. Information can also be given anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
