Men bailed over College Grove stabbing close to Wakefield city centre

Detectives investigating a stabbing close to Wakefield city centre have released two men on bail.

During the early hours of Friday morning officers were called to College Grove Road to report of a man with a stab wound.

The man, 38, was taken to Leeds General infirmary just after 2.15am.

He is still in hospital and remains in a serious, but not life threatening, condition.

Police cordoned off the scene

Police taped off the streets around College Grove Road and back Hatfeild Street and officers were still at the scene late into Friday afternoon.

A 40-year-old man and a 29 year-old man have now been released on bail pending further enquiries.
