Police hunt for 10-year-old boy after Wakefield armed robbery

A 10-year-old boy was involved in an armed robbery at a city centre travel agents yesterday.

The boy was with two men when they went into the store on Warrengate just before 1pm.

After threatening the staff with the knife they escaped with some money and a mobile phone.

Det Insp Lester Lee, of Wakefield CID, said: “Two men with a child, who is believed to have been around 10 years old, threatened staff with a knife before escaping on foot.”

Both adult suspects were wearing jeans. The first suspect was a 5ft 5ins tall large man.

The second was 5ft 3ins and slim.

The child had red hair.
