Police name Wakefield man killed in Dewsbury car crash

A pensioner who died following a collision in Dewsbury earlier this month has been formally identified as Harry Baldwin from Wakefield.

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the collision, which happened at around 2.35pm on Friday, January 8, on Quarry Lane at its junction with the A653 Leeds Road.

Mr Baldwin, aged 78, suffered serious injuries after being involved in a collision with a gold DAF heavy goods vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Anyone who witnessed the collision who has not already come forward is urged to contact West Yorkshire Police’s Major Collision Enquiry Team via 101.
