Robbery at Co-operative supermarket in Outwood

Robber burst into a supermarket and threatened staff.

The two men stole cash and cigarettes from the Co-operative, on Medowvale, Outwood ,last night (Thursday) sometime between 10.30pm and 10.45pm.

Det Con Alexandra Fletcher, of Wakefield CID, said: “We are investigating this incident and have now arrested two men from the Leeds area.

“Enquiries remain ongoing however and we are seeking witnesses, particularly anyone who saw two men behaving suspiciously outside the store shortly before the robbery took place or who saw the offence or has information.”

A 26-year-old man and a 29-year-old man are currently being held in custody.

This is the second robbery at the supermarket this month.
