Suspects fired gun at Wakefield home in targeted attack

Three suspects fired a gun at the door of a Wakefield home before fleeing in a car that was later found burnt out.

West Yorkshire Police are appealing for information on the incident, which took place on Radcliffe Road, Wakefield, at around 3.04am today (Thursday, August 13).

It is believed that three male suspects arrived at the property in a Silver Vauxhall, which was later found burned out.

Detective Inspector Sarah Burton of West Yorkshire’s Firearms Prevent Team said: "Our investigation is at an early stage but we believe this has been a targeted attack.

"This incident will understandably cause concern in the local community and there are increased high visibility patrols in the area to offer reassurance.

"The discharge of any firearm is extremely serious and extensive enquiries are underway to find all of those responsible.

"Thankfully no one has been injured in this incident.
