A takeaway and parked car were attacked by stone-throwing yobs in Normanton.

Police said they were called out to reports of a group of up to 30 youths causing a nuisance in the town’s Dalefield area at around 8.30pm.

A car and the takeaway windows were targeted by the group, who had dispersed by the time police arrived.

There had already been several reports of anti-social behaviour on Dalefield Avenue, the Normanton and Featherstone neighbourhood police team said yesterday.

Separate incidents of damage to vehicles on Cambridge Street were not thought to be connected to the Dalefield trouble.

Police also confirmed they were called to Wakefield Road on November 27 after other reports of stones being thrown at passing cars.

Anybody with information about anti-social behaviour can contact the police by calling 101.
