Thieves try breaking into Wakefield food bank three times

Police believe thieves may be targeting a church run food bank in Agbrigg.

The Rural neighbourhood police team (NPT) has been called to St Catherine’s Church, on Doncaster Road, three times in the past three weeks.

Each time thieves have attempted to break into a garage behind the church.

Insp Richard Clare, of the Rural NPT, said: “We believe people may be trying to steal food from the church which is given to people who need it for free. It is sickening that someone would want to steal from a church food bank.”

Anyone with information should contact the NPT on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
