Thousands raised in memory of police officer PC Wes Kingsley
PC Wes Kingsley was fulfilling a childhood dream when he served as an officer with the Central neighbourhood police team (NPT).
But the 35-year-old’s career was cut short when he fell down a flight of steps at Leeds Railway Station. He was off duty and on his way home after a night out with colleagues.

He left behind wife Sarah and sons Jaiden, two, and William, four.
Hundreds of family, friends and police officers attended Wakefield Cathedral for his funeral in April.
And since then they have raised thousands of pounds for two charities.

Former police community support officer, Mrs Kingsley, 27, of George Street, South Hiendley, said: “Wes was laid- back and everyone’s friend. He adored his family and kids. He was fantastic.
“Christmas was his favourite time of year and it has been hard. Jaiden understands daddy isn’t coming home and William understands more than you think and asks questions. We have had fantastic support from family and friends.”
More than £2,400 was raised for the charities during a fundraising night at South Kirkby Cricket Club on November 2, which would have been PC Kingsley’s 36th birthday.

“Their care and support was amazing. As Wes was a serving police officer the Blue Lamp Foundation was a charity close to his heart.
“I would like to thank everyone who donated.”
A fundraising website has been set up in his memory and special wristbands can be bought to support the two causes.
