VIDEO: Can you name tracksuit-wearing yobs caught on CCTV?
Yobs who targeted a home in a mindless act of vandalism are being hunted by police after they were caught on CCTV.
The three tracksuit-wearing teenagers thought they had cut the cable to the cameras at the property in Ossett, but did not realise there were other cameras still watching them.
The incident happened on January 7 shortly before 7pm when they were seen on Storrs Hill Road hanging around the property.
Coming equipped, one is seen taking something from inside his jacket, climbing over the gate, then hurling the object through the back window the car parked on the drive before running off.
The homeowner said she only realised there was an issue when she spotted that one of the cameras on the monitor had gone black.
She said: "They cut the cable for the CCTV at the front, but they obviously didn't know there were two others that picked them up.
"I was devastated, I couldn't believe it. I have no idea who they are, I've never seen them before.
"It really freaked me out. I'm now watching the monitor all the time in case they come back.
"If you watch them, it's like they couldn't care less.
"I feel like it wouldn't have been that bad if they had tried to steal something, because it's just mindless vandalism, and I'm wondering what I've done wrong.
"To me, they knew what they were doing."
Anyone with information about the identity of the three yobs is being asked to contact Wakefield North West Neighbourhood Policing Team on 101 referencing crime number 13210011005.
