Wakefield Wildcats release images in investigation of crowd trouble during Widnes Vikings game

Wakefield Wildcats have released these images in connection with an investigation into crowd trouble.

Trouble flared at the Cats’ last home game against Widnes Vikings.

And today the club issued these images and a statement in relation to the disturbances on the terraces of the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.

The statement states: “The Wildcats wish to speak to a number of individuals.

“The club wish to thank supporters from both clubs who have come forward with information regarding the incident to assist with our investigation.

“Following initial investigations, the club have identified a number of individuals we wish to speak to to assist with the investigation.”

Fans at the SuperLeague game said the trouble broke out near the refreshment bar where the Widnes supporters were and stewards were needed to break up the trouble.

Police were called to the ground at around 9.45pm on Monday, July 8 after receiving reports of a “scuffle” at the ground.

And officers stayed until 10.40pm but no arrests were made.

Wildcats managed to secure a 24-14 home victory.
