Witnesses sought after several 'targeted' incidents in Agbrigg

Police are appealing for witnesses after a number of incidents in Agbrigg over recent days.

The first incident reported to police was a public order offence which happened on Briary Close at the junction of Montague Street on Monday, July 6 around 7.30pm.

The second incident reported was an arson where a BMW was damaged in Briar Grove in the early hours of Tuesday, July 7 sometime between midnight and 2am.

The third incident occurred at around the same time on Maybush Road where a Fiat 500 was damaged in an arson attack.

Police believe all these incidents are connected and isolated offences.

Three men aged 22, 28, and 29 years old have been arrested in connection with these offences and been bailed pending further enquiries.

Inspector Sohail Mohammed of North East and Rural Neighbourhood Policing team said: "We are appealing for any information anyone might have in relation to these three incidents which might help our investigation.

"We believe these offences are isolated and targeted and the people are known to each other.

"Neighbourhood patrols have been stepped up in the area to provide community reassurance."
