Yobs damage five bus shelters on the same route

Police are appealing for witnesses after a number of bus shelters in the Wakefield East and South East area were damaged.

Between Saturday, June 20 and Monday, June 22, five bus shelters were damaged.

From initial enquiries officers said it shows that it is the bus route of the number 496.

Police Sergeant Dave Lockwood from Pontefract Neighbourhood Policing team said: "Anti-social behaviour and criminal damage at these bus shelters will not be tolerated.

"CCTV enquiries and house to house are being done to identify the suspects.

"Increased visible neighbourhood policing patrols are also specifically targeting the areas concerned.

"It is crucial that we identify those responsible and I would urge the local community to come forward with any information that would help our investigation."
