A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police confirmed that they had been called at 12.39pm to reports of a road traffic collision between a cyclist and a white truck.

The incident took place on Aberford Road, at the junction with Eastmoor Road and Queen Elizabeth Road.

Three ambulances attended, and the air ambulance was called, it is understood.

The cyclist, a man in his late 40s, was taken by road to Leeds General Infirmary.

The road remains closed at this time, and drivers are asked to avoid the area.
