People are being encouraged to get into the spirit of the Tour de France and take part in the big cycle ride this Sunday.
The free Get Wakefield Moving event is a 1.3km bike ride around the city centre.
It aims to get people active by giving them the chance to ride their bike safely in a traffic free zone.
Drivers are being warned about road closures during the ride.
Streets which will be closed include Westgate, Bullring, Cliff Parade, Back Lane, Drury Lane and Smyth Street.
Bell Street heading toward Bond Street will remain open and there will be access to and from Balne Lane.
Coun Les Shaw, Wakefield Council’s cabinet member for culture, leisure and sport, said: “This fast-paced cycling event will be perfect for everyone to get energetic, have fun and get involved in the many activities taking place.
“But we want to make sure residents are aware of certain road closures that will last for a majority of the day.”
There will be a variety of activities including bike sculpture workshops, a music stage, food and water stations, sporting activities and taster sessions.
The event takes place on Sunday from 10am to 3pm.
