THERE was a surprise in store for unsuspecting passengers at Wakefield Bus Station.
A flashmob, led by former X-Factor contestant Stacey Camps who appeared on the show as part of girl band Husstle last year, sprang into action on Tuesday.
The dancers had been posing as bus station cleaners before the music started, prompting them to rip off their overalls and perform a lively routine.
Mary Lowrey, general manager for Arriva Wakefield, said; “It was great and we were so pleased to see our drivers Peter and Krysha Asher take to the floor too. They were fearless.”
The event was part of a week of activities to celebrate Arriva’s ‘Your buses just got better’ initiative.
A bus-king talent show earlier that day also proved popular with customers. It saw a whole host of acts from across the region take to the stage, including guitarist James Coley, majorettes dance troupe, the Ryecroft Angels and hand drummer Sibu Mele.
Yesterday families enjoyed a free art day event at the bus station that was run in conjunction with The Hepworth gallery.
