Streets have been left in darkness for around three weeks after lighting failed.
Around 40 street lights on Derwent Road and Windermere Avenue in Flanshaw broke down on December 16.
Engineers from Northern Powergrid have been working to restore the lighting, but 12 lights were still out of action today.
A Northern Powergrid spokeswoman said: “We were advised on Tuesday 16 December that approximately 40 street lights were not working on Derwent Road and Windermere Road in Wakefield.
“We were able to restore half the street lights over the Christmas period, however in order to restore the remaining street lights we needed to carry out a repair to the underground electricity cable which supplies power to the street lights.”
