A day to surely put a smile on your face

PUT the winter blues behind you and take some time to smile this weekend.

A special event to make you feel better inside will be taking place in the city to celebrate World Happy Day.

Susan Dewhurst, of Emley, was so inspired by the American philosophy that she decided to get people together in her village scout hut.

But it became so popular that she has had to move to St Catherine’s Church and Centre on Doncaster Road.

Tomorrow at 2pm residents are invited to attend a screening of a film called HAPPY and join in with the fun feeling. Entry is free but donations can be made for the aptly named charity, Action for Happiness.

Ms Dewhurst, 39, said: “Originally I was only expecting a handful of people to come along but numbers have grown to such an extent that I decided to look at larger venues.

“I love to organise fun and quirky workshops and events.

“My passion is bringing people together to connect, relax, have fun, meet others and learn along the way.”

Action for Happiness is part of The Young Foundation charity, which brings companies together to help meet social needs.

World Happy Day was created to bring communities together and give people a spiritual lift in their lives.
