Graham West, Service Manager Planning, Transportation and Highways at Wakefield Council, said: “We’ve started work on roads beside the Bull Ring to strengthen the blockwork and to install longer tarmac ramp. This work, which began on Monday (March 21), will last for approximately two weeks.

“As part of our planning for the work we fully consulted at a bus partnership meeting to agree road closures and diversions.

“We have also placed notices around the Bull Ring area and at the bus station to make drivers and pedestrians aware of this work.

“While working on the roads our aim is always to minimise disruption, and we are sorry for any inconvenience that may be cause to drivers and pedestrians.”
