Eastmoor double murder accused in court

Ahmad Otak, 19, of Linton Road, is charged with the murder of Samantha Sykes, 18, and Kimberley Frank, 17 on Friday.

He is also charged with the kidnap and false imprisonment of Miss Frank’s sister Elisa from Friday until Sunday, and possessing a kitchen knife.

Prosecutor, Karen Williams said Otak is alleged to have killed Miss Frank and Miss Sykes at Miss Frank’s flat on Barden Road, Eastmoor after an argument.

He is also accused of kidnapping his former girlfriend Elisa Frank and driving her to Dover against her will.

Otak was arrested by Kent police on Saturday, in Dover, and brought back to Wakefield where he was charged with two counts of murder on Monday evening.

Otak entered no pleas during the short hearing at Wakefield Magistrate’s Court this morning (Tuesday).

He was remanded in custody and is expected to appear before Leeds Crown Court, via a video link, tomorrow.
