Ambler Street will be closed from January 12 to 26 and parking will be suspended on Lower Oxford Street from January 19.

Alternative parking will be provided for residents in a car park on Vickers Street.

John Pickering, customer operations area manager, said: “We have planned our work closely with the council, to minimise disruption to both residents and motorists. However, it has been necessary to put into place a number of traffic restrictions to allow the work to progress.”

Temporary bus stops will also be set up while the works are carried out.

Mr Pickering added: “We would like to apologise for any inconvenience this essential work may cause and thank everyone in advance for their patience and understanding.”
