Electricity cut off until late tonight in Pontefract
Power will be down in the Pontefract area until around 10pm while 'urgent work' takes place.
Northern Powergrid, which distributes energy to millions of people, confirmed it had to cut electricity in the WF8 area on Twitter.
It said: "We’ve had to turn the power off to our network in #WF8_3 to carry out urgent work, we aim to restore power by approx. 10.00 PM. Thanks for your patience"
