The Getting Building Fund is investing, via Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs), in shovel-ready infrastructure projects to create jobs and support economic recovery across the country.

Upgrading to a new efficient gas boiler can typically save around £200 per year on fuel bills and can make your home warmer and healthier this winter.

This scheme is part of the council’s commitment to support residents to live in warm and energy efficient homes and reduce the risk of fuel poverty.

Coun Darren Byford, Wakefield Council’s Cabinet Member for Economic Growth and Regeneration, said: “Everyone deserves a warm home that is affordable to heat.

"That is why we are delighted to be launching the big boiler scheme across the district. To find out more and to check if you are eligible, please get in touch with the team and get your name on the waiting list. We are expecting there to be high demand when the scheme launches in the New Year.”

The Big Boiler Scheme will go live early in the New Year but the Council is opening a waiting list now for people to get their name down early to beat the rush.
