MP presents petition for plastic tax

Wakefield MP Mary Creagh presented a petition of almost a quarter-of-a-million names to the HM Treasury this week calling for a tax on throwaway plastic.

Efforts are being made to cut down on the amount of single-use plastic, such as straws, cutlery and cups that end up littering streets, beaches and washing out to sea where they polluting oceans and harming marine wildlife.
