Family has lucky escape from Castleford house blaze
A Castleford family had a lucky escape after a fire broke out at their home.
Firefighters were called to Rhodes Street to reports of four people being stuck in the house but found everyone had managed to get out before they arrived. Nobody was injured.
The fire broke out in the rear of the house and had spread to a bedroom.
Crews from Pontefract, Normanton and Castleford fire stations attended the incident shortly before 3am on Sunday. The cause of the blaze is currently being investigated by fire officers.
