Fire crews help rescue woman from house after suspected heart attack

Wakefield firefighters assisted in rescuing a woman from a property in Pinders Heath this morning (Tuesday).

They were a called to a property in Barleycorn Close at around 3.50am following reports that a 68-year-old female had collapsed after a suspected cardiac arrest.

Paramedics were struggling to gain access to an upstairs room in the property and firefighters had to break down the door.

The woman’s husband was also in the house at the time.

Firefighters assisted paramedics in removing the woman, who was described as overweight, from the property.

The woman was taken to Pinderfields Hospital, where she later died.
