Firefighters rescued a pony from a canal.

The pony became stuck in the Calder and Hebble Navigation at Broad Cut Road, in Calder Grove, just after 9am this morning (Tuesday).

A technical rescue officer managed to get the animal, which was not injured, to safety and it was back grazing in its field by 10am.

The RSPCA and the pony’s owner were also at the scene.
