Gang threatened dad with knife as pregnant partner and child slept upstairs

A man was threatened with a knife while his pregnant partner and young child slept upstairs after a gang of burglars broke into their family home in Wakefield.

The victim was in the kitchen of his house on Silcoates Street, on the Peacock estate, when six men ran down the garden path and burst in through the front door. The gang demanded money and threatened the man with a large knife. They then searched the house and threw a microwave at him, although he was not hit.

The men got away with the victim’s wallet and lighter.

They escaped in a dark coloured car, which headed towards Balne Lane. The suspects are described as white and spoke with local accents. Three or four of them wore balaclavas.
