Gang of yobs throw stones at cars

The Normanton and Featherstone Neighbourhood Policing Team said it had received several calls about of a large group of youths targeting vehicles, particularly around Cambridge Street.

Police said they had also had reports of anti-social behaviour and damage to a takeaway on Dalefield Avenue.

The team said on Facebook: “We are working with their staff to obtain CCTV to identify the suspects.

“Residents are asked to call the police if they witnessed these incidents or if they know any of the youths involved. Calls can be made in confidence. We are working alongside Wakefield Council Anti-Social Behaviour Unit to tackle these problems.

“We believe the reports of damage caused to vehicles on Cambridge Street are not linked to the same group because of the times the offences occurred.

“If anyone has any information or CCTV footage in relation to these incidents please call the police on 101.”
