Hazardous HGV driver on M62 drunk at the wheel

The driver of an HGV carrying hazardous substances was arrested after he blew twice over the legal alcohol limit when stopped by police on the M62 in West Yorkshire.

West Yorkshire Police Road Policing Unit said that they pulled the driver over on the motorway yesterday morning and after breathalysing him, found him over the drink-drive limit.

He was arrested and later charged.

The vehicle he was driving carried a HAZCHEM warning plate, which is used in the UK for vehicles transporting hazardous substances.

West Yorkshire Police RPU said the driver’s actions were “Horrendously dangerous.”
