Holy smokes, Batman! Wakefield Comic-Con returns this weekend

Superheroes and villains of all kinds and colours will descend on the city when Unity Works hosts the second Wakefield Comic-Con this weekend.

It will be all about super power at The Ridings Shopping Centre on Saturday in celebration of Wakefields Comic Con.

And the sixth Doctor Who, Colin Baker, is the convention’s special guest on Saturday.

Farscape actress Virginia Hey, Game of Thrones star Miltos Yerolemou and Dr Who’s Winston Churchwill, Ian McNeice, will appear at the event.

Marvel artist Lee Townsend and veteran performer Simon Fisher-Becker are also heading to the city.

Mr Townsend tweeted: “This weekend I will be a guest at #wakefieldcomiccon come by and say hello, for sketches, original art, & prints!”

Ticket holders can enter the convention at 10am on Saturday and general admission starts from noon.

The event also takes place on Sunday.
