Cineworld in Glass Houghton will be hosting its first Imax film festival this weekend.
Visitors to the cinema in Xscape were given the chance to choose their ultimate Imax films, with Jurassic World receiving 24 per cent of votes, followed by Gravity with 13 per cent and Mad Max: Fury Road with 9 per cent.
The chosen films will be screened - along with a UK exclusive of The Martian - on Saturday, February 27.
Steve Peterson, general manager of the cinema, said: “It’s no surprise that Jurassic World has been chosen as the film the people of Castleford would most love to bring back to the big screen in Imax – it was one of the biggest films of 2015 and we know lots of people are dying to have a chance to see it in Imax again.”
Imax features a much larger high definition screen, along with powerful digital sound and crystal-clear digital projection.
Tickets cost £3 per film and can be booked in advance online at www.cineworld.com/imax-film-fest
