The Express has once again teamed up with Wakefield College to find the best young photographer in the district.

The competition is open to pupils aged seven to 16 and the image has to fit the theme of ‘New Beginnings.’ How this is interpreted is down to the individual photographer.

Last year Horbury Academy student Jake Wallace was crowned the first-ever winner of the competition.

This year the competition will be split into two age categories, seven to 11-year-olds and 12 to 16-year-olds.

The competition closes on Friday, February 13.

The top 20 pictures will be published in the Express and it will then be up to our readers to vote for their favourite.

The winner of each category will receive a Canon Power Shot SX510HR bridge camera and a framed copy of their photograph.
