Let the train take the strain - homes near railway stations

As roads become more congested and parking spaces in city centres are increasingly more expensive, living within walking distance of a railway station is becoming ever more desirable and estate agents in Wakefield have reported an upsurge of enquiries from potential buyers. Claire Kendall of Richard Kendall Estate Agents said that houses close to Outwood and Sandal/Agbrigg station were always sought after, as are those at St Christiopher’s Walk which is right on the doorstep of Westgate Railway Station in the heart of the city.

She said: “Living near a station is becoming an important factor when people are looking to buy houses. Such properties may not necessarily command a higher price but it certainly helps them sell more quickly.
