Letter - May’s been so good

MAY has been a good month for Wakefield!

It began with the first anniversary of the Hepworth. Its half-million visitors is no mean feat.

Secondly, JAM, an Aladdin’s cave of a shop in Northgate, being named as Independent Gift retailer of the year.

Thirdly, Trinity Walk celebrated its first year successfully despite such difficult trading conditions.

Fourthly, the fantastic production of The Sound of Music by the Wakefield West Riding Theatre Company, amateurs – you must be joking!

Finally, let’s put the icing on the cake by Wakefield Trinity Wildcats obtaining a new ground and finishing the season from now, unbeaten!!

PS. And the council seeing sense at last and returning the Farmer’s Market to the Cathedral Precinct.
