Letter - Wakefield One is a tasteful building

WAKEFIELD One, or the new civic centre, to individuals who notice this building it may appear to be yet another square box, to others inane.

I personally love this contemporary architecture, what I find fascinating about this building is the very clever use of rectangular tiles that dress the civic centre, shades of beige/brown totally confuse the eyes from a distance in to believing the building is of a sandstone structure, each window inlet uses the same tiles but in various colours creating a wonderful vibrant spectrum when seen from alternative angles.

The grand crested entrance is impressive to say the least; Wakefield One is statement architecture while tastefully complementing the surrounding buildings.

I like this building, hats off to Wakefield Council, well done.
