WOW! Recently you promoted the Ossett based Priory Players’ Youth Group performance of “Carrots”, an emotional play telling the history of Dr Barnardo’s charity.
Well last week I witnessed the first of four performances and the children were all amazing. They have demonstrated that, under the guidance, leadership and care of Gillian Shelton and team, they have reached a new depth of performance.
The children have demonstrated how versatile they can be by putting on a play about child poverty and tragedy, focusing on one boy with bright orange hair who was part of a group of ‘roof top kids’ living rough in the late 1800s.
The children were also great ambassadors for Dr Barnardos and its history.
Representatives of the National Operatic and Dramatic Association said the performance was “wonderful and emotional” and that “there are some really talented children amongst this group”.
Well done Priory Players Youth Group and thank you to all who help make this happen.
