Letters - Anybody to care for us?

HAVING served in the British Army for 22 years, I know Help for Heroes looks after those members of the armed forces injured in the line of duty and helping them get back to full fitness. But who helps those members of the armed forces who are looking for employment? It seems that no-one cares any more.

The Royal Briish Legion help in any way that it can. What I’m trying to say is at one point employers bent over backwards to employ ex-service personnel, but it seems no one cares now. Just like when people came back from the trenches.

Even the local council don’t seem to care. At one point you went to the top of the housing list, but now it seems that giving 22 years of your life to the service of your country means you’re thrown on the scrap heap of life.
