Lorry driver escapes injury after smashing into railway bridge
A road was left closed for hours after a lorry smashed into a railway bridge.
The accident happened on the A638 Doncaster Road south east of Ackworth on Thursday morning, May 17, shortly after 9.30am.
The driver escaped uninjured but the road was shut for over five hours down to the junction with New Lane and vehicles were forced to turn around.
The British Transport Police were called along with the other emergency services to inspect damage at the bridge
