INDUSTRIAL equipment has been stolen from the National Coal Mining Museum.
Thieves cut through three sets of security gates to steal a transformer and a generator from the museum at Caphouse Colliery, Overton.
Police believe the suspects used a flat backed lorry and lifting equipment to escape with the heavy machinery.
It happened some time between 5pm on Thursday, June 28, and 8am on Friday, June 29.
Willie McGranaghan, mine manager and deputy director, said: “They were being stored in a compound waiting to be restored before they were put to use at the museum.”
Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
