A man was taken to hospital suffering from the effects of the cold, after he decided to have a nap in his car on one of the city’s most notorious roads.

Emergency services were called to Chevet Lane at around 8am this morning, where they found the man asleep in his 4x4.

A passing motorist raised the alarm when they spotted the man slumped behind his wheel.

Police and an ambu-lance attended the scene near Notton Grange Farm, and discovered the man had parked up the night before, and had slept for longer than expected.

He was taken to hospi-tal as a precaution because he appeared to be suffering from the affects of the cold.

Chevet Lane has been branded one of Britain’s most notorious roads by Notton Parish councillor, Stephen Selby. He has been campaigning to get road signs put up and speed limits reduced following a number of fatal accidents.
