Men broke into home and demanded cash

Three men burst into a Chickenley house and demanded cash from a woman inside.
The attempted robbery took place last night (Wednesday) at around 6pm at a house on Walnut Lane.

The men broke into the house and demanded cash and to speak to a man. They then left empty handed, leaving a 61-year-old woman inside the house shaken but unharmed.

The first suspect is described as a white male, in his mid 20s, 5 foot 5 inches to 5 foot 6 inches tall, of stocky build, wearing dark clothing and carrying a black handled kitchen knife with a silver blade.

The second was a white male, 5 foot 2 inches to 5 foot 3 inches tall, in his early 20s and slim with dark clothing. He was carrying a silver coloured hand tool with a hole in the end and had short dark hair that was brushed flat.

The third suspect was white, wearing dark clothing, with short black or brown hair.

Detective Constable Sally Dale of Dewsbury CID, said: “We are investigating the possibility these men may have targeted the wrong property and are appealing for anyone who saw men fitting these descriptions parked in a black car outside shortly before the incident took place.

“Anyone who has information about this incident is asked to contact Dewsbury CID on 101 or on CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111.”
