Missing man Damion Vernon: Three months on and still no sign of dad-of-two

Detectives are still searching for vital information which could help them find a dad-of-two who went missing in the city more than three months ago.

Damion Vernon, 32 was last seen in the Belle Vue area of the city on Monday, December 8.

Police divers have finished searching the River Calder and have no new leads.

Detectives said Mr Vernon left his blue Vauxhall Corsa, registration number YH51 FLL, parked on Sycamore Street, Belle Vue.

He then walked along an alleyway off Sycamore Street,which is close to the river.

Det Ch Insp Matt Baldwin said: “Sadly there have been no significant findings in our hunt for Damion.

“Investigations are on-going but there are no new leads to this missing person enquiry at this stage.

“We continue to appeal for anyone who has any information that would help with our enquiries.”

Mr Vernon, of Headlands Close, Bridlington, is 6ft tall, slim and has short wavy light brown-coloured hair.

He was last seen wearing a mustard-coloured body warmer, a green long-sleeved woollen jumper and jeans.
