Motorcyclist died after collision with tractor trailer near Haigh

A motorcyclist has died after a collision with a tractor trailer near Haigh yesterday (Tuesday).

Police said the 37-year-old was travelling south on the A637 Huddersfield Road towards Bretton Mill Farm along with a second motorcyclist, when he was in collision with a trailer being pulled by a tractor that had exited from a nearby field.

He died at the scene.

Officers are appealing for witnesses following the incident, which happened at around 7.40pm.

Sergeant Ann Drury, from West Yorkshire Police’s major collision enquiry team, said: “We are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen this collision, or the motorcycles prior to the collision, to contact DC Noel Lowdon on 101.”
