Films will be projected onto Wakefield Cathedral.
Starting on Tuesday the Art House will be projecting short films and documentaries onto the walls of the Cathedral as part of the week long Amazing Streets and Spaces programme.
The One-to-One Development Trust, will showcase clips from its 25 years of film making across the district, including a special documentary about the Cathedral’s recent redevelopment.
Films by directors Dave Charlesworth, Mary Duggan, Nicholas Singleton, Derek Richards and Alicia Wallace will also be showcased throughout the week alongside short ‘Know-How’ videos by artists Steve Pool and Kate Genever, created for their new television channel ‘Poly Vision’.
Photographs of the city by Richard Stanley and Aly Jackson will also be on display.
The Big Picture showcase will conclude on Saturday night with Simon Bolton-Gabrielsen’s unique film, based on a quote from 19th Century Wakefield novelist, George Gissing.
The projections will take place between 5pm and 9pm daily, except on Thursday.
A documentary about the redevelopment of Wakefield Cathedral by The One-to-One Development Trust will be shown inside the building tomorrow at 5.30pm.
Wakefield Cathedral will also be hosting their One World Concert, celebrating multicultural music from across the globe, from 7pm on Saturday evening.
