This year the Express is launching My Wakefield - a new community focused feature dedicated to where you live.
But we will also be asking for your input – letters, comments, observations and photographs about what you think makes your area tick would be much appreciated.
We’ll be kicking off in January with the Outwood and Wrenthorpe areas, so if you are from those communities and want to tell people how great it is – or point out issues that you think need resolving – then do get in touch via email@example.com
And if you are from an area which we will be featuring later in the year, don’t hesitate to contact us now so we can work with you before your month comes around.
As a bonus thank you, we’ll also be staging a monthly ‘It Could be You’ competition whereby one Express reader from each area will receive £100!
Each month we will be devoting two extra pages of coverage a week to specific areas of the city. This will be a mixture of news and sport, focused primarily on ultra local information and features about the goings-on in your communities.
Express editor Mark Bradley said: “This is an ambitious attempt to drill down into what makes our communities function in their own unique wars, and what the future holds for each of them.
“But to do that we need our readers’ support - so I would urge anyone who is proud of where they live to get in touch - we really would love to hear from you.”
