New manager for prospering Wakefield hotel

A new manager has been appointed for the Cedar Court Hotel as it continues to grow following a refurbishment.

James Lake joined the four star hotel, on Denby Dale Road off junction 39 of the M1, at the end of last month.

The venue recently invested in upgrades to its bedrooms, conference and banqueting suites, general facilities and the ground floor, which has been completely refurbished.

Mr Lake said: “I am already enjoying this new role. We’re drawing up plans for a new style of food in the restaurant which will benefit our corporate guests as well as neighbourhood diners. At the same time, we’re driving new business from across the UK, bringing more people to Wakefield, and I want to get even closer links with the local business community. It’s important the Cedar Court Hotel provides the facilities and service that match the economic development of the city, the fastest growing in the Leeds City region.”

The Wakefield hotels reporting robust results ahead of last year, and is already expecting good business in 2016.

It was the first one to be opened in the Cedar Court Group, which now operates four hotels in Yorkshire.

The group also recently appointed Joanne Greaves as National Agency Sales Manager for all its venues.
