NEW Year’s Day babies arrived in time to give their parents a happy start to 2012.
Ifty and Katie Khan had a double delivery when their twin girls Aaniyah and Eliza were born at 7.10am and 7.12am at Pinderfields Hospital
Baby Aaniyah weighed 4lbs 14oz, while Eliza weighed in at 5lbs 11oz.
Mr Khan, 34, of Virginia Close, Lofthouse, said: “They are doing really, really well. They have been brilliant.”
The first new year baby was Katie Sue Golding, born at 12.33am on January 1 at Pinderfields Hospital, weighing in at 9lbs 4oz.
Mum Heather Golding said dad Darren, 37, and brothers Daniel Golding, three, and Thomas Barker, 12, were excited to meet their new sister.
Mrs Golding, 32, of Langdale Drive, Flanshaw, said: “They are thrilled. Katie is fine. She is just sleeping all the time. I’m still a bit dazed.”
Next arrived Jade Leigh Parkin at 1.37am, weighing 6lbs 14 oz.
Mum Claire Duffield, 27, dad Ryan Parkin, 21, were home later that morning to spend their first New Year’s Day with Jade.
And brother Jak, two, and sister Billie, five, were thrilled to meet their new sister.
Miss Duffield, of Irwin Crescent, Eastmoor, said: “Jade is doing fine and she’s lovely.”
Maisie Sarah Carter-Firth was born at 2.39am on New Year’s Day at Pinderfields Hospital to the delight of mum Wendy Carter-Firth, 34, and dad Derrick Firth, 67.
She weighed 7lbs 14oz. Mrs Firth, of Snapethorpe Road, Lupset, said: “She’s absolutely fine, just sleeping a lot.”
